The city of Nawabs welcomes one and all with such warmth and comfort that you will just fall in love with it. My trip to Hyderabad was a great experience indeed. As I travelled all the way from Jamshedpur, the Steel City in Jharkhand to the Pearl City the first thing I witnessed from the windows of the train was the beauty of Chilka Lake.

Nature and it’s alluring beauty is itself an eye pleasing for us all. The Hussain Sagar Lake and its splendid beauty on our way were a marvellous sight for us to view while crossing the Tank Bund road. Situated in the heart of the city, the lake with a huge Buddha statue is the centre of attraction of the Pearl City. The lake also has the India’s Second Largest Flag hoisted in the Sanjeevaiah Park premises.

The Enchanting Charminar

The next day we went to visit the Charminar and I was completely blown away by its architectural beauty. The view from the top of the Charminar was much more enticing. We had heard of the underground route from Charminar that leads to Golconda Fort. It is however not open to the visitors. Its imagination itself gives us a thrill of excitement of how it would have been for the people who had used the path. We even visited the Makkah Masjid besides the charming Laad Bazar where we did a lot of shopping. I even bought the most famous lac bangles from here. Also, we sipped a cup of the famous Irani Tea which was indeed a treat for our taste buds.

Surrounding the Hussain Sagar Lake is the road in the shape of a necklace if seen from the sky view. The other attractions besides the lake are NTR Gardens, NTR Memorial, Birla Temple, Lumbini Park, Sanjeevaiah Park, Prasad’s Imax, Waterfront, Jalavihar and a few other food hubs. Overall, you can spend your entire day around the lake enjoying a movie at Big Screen or the Imax. You can savor the taste of the city by eating the famous Hyderabadi Biryani or other hyderabadi dishes at Eat Street or Ohri’s. You can rejoice the water ride at Jalavihar or have fun by boating in the lake.

A Mini Village: Shilparamam

Shilparamam, a mini model of a village with pleasing scenery, rock museum, shopping area, boating and recreational venue for various functions. The scenic beauty of Shilparamam situated in 65 acres of land is indeed a pleasant place to spend your day. You can enjoy shopping, boating or sitting under the shade of tree relaxing and gossiping with your loved ones.

We ended our trip by visiting the Jagannath temple in Banjara Hills which is a copy of Puri Jagannath Temple and is a magnificent architectural beauty worth seeing. The city is indeed a place full of fun and excitement. Night clubs, food joints, multiplexes, shopping malls, temples, parks and a lot more things are in the city for a refreshing vacation. Sadly, in our short trip we were unable to visit the Ramoji Film Studios and the Golconda Fort. However, we enjoyed a lot in the city of Nawabs.
