Zorawar Kalra is back with a masterpiece and this time the cuisine of choice is Thai. Bo Tai, located in the resplendent One Style Mile on Kalka Dass Marg is serving out some contemporary Thai food and European grills that is making people go ga-ga. We recently decided to head there and Boy, were we surprised or what?

Why did we fall in love with Bo Tai?
Surprised not only with the chic design of the outlet, or the al-fresco area overlooking the Qutab, or the innovative way they serve their cocktails but it is actually the food that absolutely makes you fall in love. A gigantic bar dominates the centre of the restaurant serving out cocktails that are high on flavour and the booze. Let’s talk about the innovation now: Many of the Whiskey classics just like my Ol’ Fashioned is served in a container put on ice, thus keeping it cold without diluting the flavours even one bit.
Although a restaurant may have the best of looks and some boozy cocktails, but what survives the test of time is the food. The food at Bo Tai is a cornucopia of flavours that leaves a mark on the palate. Just like the Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio along with some Chili and Lime for the extra zing and a Kaffir Lime Sorbet to cool the palate off. It can also be the Tamarind Blue Crab Cakes served with some Sago Crisps, Chillies and other things on the side.
Desserts at Bo Tai
The Water Chestnut Dim Sum are a lovely addition to the list while the Grilled Lamb Chops with a Rosemary Jus and Potato Mash Quenelles which showcase the full range of Chef Sahil Singh’s repertoire. For dessert, we decide on the Kobocha Custard along with a Coconut and Pandan jelly. The soft fluffy tart is offset with the Pandan pudding to create a melange of lovely flavours on the palate. Of course, there is my all time Tub Tim Krob also.
Do head to Bo Tai for some superlative expression of flavours with the view of Qutab Minar in the background.
