It may be easy to miss this restaurant for people not from around Powai. However, one must not miss it, and the word should be spread for people to know. The food here is surprisingly good, sometimes great! And the staff hospitable, welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is nice, not too ornamental but clean and comfortable. Good mix of crowd – office goers, families (being a weekend), groups of friends, and couples. They have a bar, 2 private rooms and good parking facilities for large parties as well.

They started us off with the crispy masala roti  which was huge, as served at many other places as well, garnished with tomatoes, onions, sev, lemon juice and other spices.

Crispy Masala Roti

For starters, we had chicken ghee roast, as suggested by the manager, Mr. Vinod Gupte. It was one of the best dishes of the meal and something I have never tasted before. Very well marinated and flavors superbly carried by the perfect amount of ghee. Chicken pieces cooked right.

We then tried their grilled basa, soft, melt in the mouth, spicy and thoroughly enjoyable.

For vegetarian, we had the paneer chilli garlic which had a perfect fusion of heat and pungency on top of the soft cottage cheese.

Crunchy Mushroom

In main course we tried their neer dosa which retained its softness, some chicken sukka and kori pulimanchi which gave typical konkani flavours.

We were so full with starters that the main course was in excess, but we could not stop from trying. Also, the manager had insisted that we must try their hot favorite desserts – Gadbad icecream and Hello to the Queen, both publicized on a hoarding outside the restaurant. So we had to keep room. And believe it or not, they were totally worth it.

1/2 portion Gadbad ice cream

Both kids and adults lapped it up. Huge portions of ice cream, stuffed with fruits, nuts, dry fruits, etc.

By this time we were stuffed, but we noticed another set of guests ordering a sizzling brownie. We are now keen to try that, on our next visit there.
