India’s premium wine maker, Grover Zampa Vineyards has unveiled the new look of its signature wine La Réserve and it’s something that you should definitely try out. The La Reserve basically showcases the best grapes of a few years and combines it into something majestic. A hugely successful wine which has won several awards abroad and in India, La Reserve is a perfect wine to pair with your dinner. Now when you are pairing a beautiful wine with some food, it has to do justice to. Some artistically plated food at Tian, ITC Maurya did the trick.

Art and food are something that go hand in hand and Chef Vikramjit Roy exemplifies it to a point. A big fan of the American painter Jackson Pollock, his food aptly pairs up with the La Reserve wines. Combining a distilled apple sphere with betel leaf and Brut sparkling to start off the dinner was a brilliant idea indeed. The following courses featured a Roasted Kaboucha Soup which hits you with the heat of chillies and Miso infused Quinoa Salad. The flavour of the Shimeji mushrooms adds an earthy sweetness to it. We combined it with the La Reserve Blanc.  The wine is hand – picked and bunch pressed from selection of Viognier grapes of Grover Zampa’s vineyards.

Grover Zampa La ReserveThe grilled prawns are his tribute to Jackson Pollock with his drip painting technique coming to the fore. The prawns are served with mango and black bean sauce along with a mash of purple cabbage. The melange of sweet and citric flavours are very characteristic Chef Roy’s cooking and leave a lasting impression on the palate. Tian’s Surf and Turf incorporates a Pork Belly Yakitori and Yuzu buttered Scallops. Plated on a mash of roasted onions, the sweet taste combines with the La Reserve Red. The Grover Zampa La Reserve Red is made from a selection of hand picked Cabarnet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes and gives an uniquely complex set of flavours.

The mains include a Chilean Sea Bass engulfed in a herbed Pineapple jelly which again impresses us with the combination of the sweet flavours. The Lamb Lasagne is a South Asian introspect which curates out a Lasagne out of pumpkin with a North Thai yellow curry. The hit of lemongrass is something to definitely look forward to.

The desserts are another step into the artistic world. A single origin Valrohna with a Cherry Sorbet and a Cryogenated Rose is the perfect ending to a lovely paired meal.

Often listed amongst the best beaches in the world, Anse Lazio in Praslin, Seychelles truly open gates to altogether new world. And let me tell you, reaching here was quite a journey. One has to reach the bottom of the hill to Zimbabwe either by car or bus, then one has to trek over a large forested jungle clad hill and along some way before you reach the beach. But the journey is well worth the effort with views that take your breath away perfect with fine white sands and gorgeous turquoise waters that are so clear you can watch the fish swim around you, it's no surprise Anse Lazio is frequently called 'the best beach in the world'.

The Dakshin Yatra, Flavours from the South at crowneplazaokhla features a plethora of authentic flavours from the region.  For Starters: The scrumptious Paniyarams, both Savory and sweet ,medu Vada, Idiyappam with chicken curry and Idli with a plethora of chutneys to choose from coconut, raw mango, coriander and beetroot. Savour the curd rice with a wide range of non-vegetarian and vegetarian achaars (pickle's) including mutton, chicken , tuna, raw mango and karela.  In the mains, there is Pineapple and tomato rasam, Meen manga curry(fish), Kari krassi ( chicken), and variety of other vegetarian and non-vegetarian curry dishes from Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhrapradesh accompanied with papadam and a choice of steam rice or mutton biryani and some regional breads like Kothu parantha.  In the desserts, along with Mysore halwa there was gur ka payasam  The festival is on till 30th June 2024 at Edesia. It is only available for dinner 7:00- 11:00 pm and priced at INR 2799 ++.
The Indori food festival at @crowneplazaokhla features a plethora of authentic flavours from the region.  For Starters: The very famous Johnny hot dog( Anda bun), Poha, kachori, Jalebi, bhute ki khees, Indori style Dal Bati churma , Neemach Street tawa which has Kidney, Liver and Goat brain ( bheja fry) marinated and cooked on the Tawa, along with vegetarian option like stuffed capsicum, green chilli and potatoes. A range of  Pakoras featuring Dal Pakora, samosa which taste amazing with the Garlic Tomato chutney. Savour the golgappas with a wide range of flavoured water including hing, lehsun, pudina and mitha pani.  In the mains, there is Paya soup, Khassi ka meat, khada chicken, paneer, dal ,aloo ki sabji accompanied with papad and a choice of steam rice or chicken biryani and some regional breads.  In the desserts, along with Malpua Rabri there was laung lata, Gulab jamun and moong dal ka halwa  The festival is on till 19th May 2024 at Edesia.
