The newly launched Garam Dharam, ‘Dhaba te Theka’ is a perfect tribute to Dharmendra ji, and takes inspirations from the movies, dialogues and songs of the legendary veteran actor. Garam Dharam is a joint venture of restaurateurs Umang Tiwari and Micky Mehta who are already running successful units like Vault café, Zai, Skooter (under renovation) and have taken some inputs from Dharam ji himself for the idea of the restaurant.
The 4000 square feet space is innovatively decorated like an old style filmy bar and contemporary dhaba. The entrance and the walls are adorned with memorabilia of the great actor. The staff uniforms have the famous dialogues of his movies printed on them. You will really like the semi dim lighting effect given by different coloured bulbs implanted in inverted kitchen utensils and aluminium buckets hanging from the ceiling.
This place offers Desi drinking concepts and has introduced mocktails in filmy names like PYARE MOHAN NIMBU MASALA, KHATTI MEETHI CHULBUL , JAWANI BHARI GULABO etc which are served in desi small sized pavvas and banta bottles. The food is north Indian cuisine, a combination of dhaba food with a few street food items . Tried their AMRITSARI MACHHI, ANANAS KI CHAAT, MASALA WINGS and SEEKH KEBAB which were filled with robust dhaba flavors. The restaurant also offers a take away concept with unique dabba dhabas which are fixed meals to cater for the people on the move.
In a nut shell, Garam Dharam is a place which offers wonderful dhaba food at dhaba prices to all age groups and a filmy experience that you would love to cherish again and again. Stay tuned for a detailed review.
