Sheraton Saket’s award winning restaurant Pan Asian brings to you the Dimsum Parlour. Although Dim Sums are an integral part of the South-East Asian cuisine, but the public of Delhi hasn’t yet been exposed to the wonder of these pint sized bombs of flavour. Except a few places creating them, all you take solace from are the roadside momos.
Chef Vaibhav Bhargava is seeking to redress that through the Dimsum Parlour. Serving up a medley of options at affordable prices, he might just change the way that Delhi might taste Dimsums.
Set in the grand Pan Asian, you can get a choice of steamed, baked and teppanyaki Dimsums. Allergic to wheat? No problem as Chef Vaibhav Bhargava rolls out some gluten free ones. Health Freak? You got options there too. These hand crafted beauties are created using seasonal, local, sustainable and organic ingredients.
There is a huge range of sauces to accompany you on your endeavour. There’s a Yuzu ponzu, black bean, spicy roasted chili sauce, onion and crispy chili lime and chili oil to enhance the mouth watering flavours.
The Steamed category include the Truffle edamame (INR 425), Almond prawns with wasabi mayo foam (INR600) and Peking Duck with enoki ( INR 600). The combination of the earthy Edamame beans with truffle oil is a match made in heaven while the fresh seawater flavours of the prawns explode on your palate amongst the spicy wasabi mayo.
The Teppanyaki is next on the gauntlet. The options here include the Asparagus and shitake mushroom (INR 425) and Miso Black cod and ginger (INR 600). There’s an inherent sweetness to both of these as the earthy flavour of the mushrooms sneak through.
The Gluten free ones include the Rice paper stuffed with Chinese preserved vegetables (INR 365) and the Steamed Chinese cabbage chicken (INR 399). The Sour taste of the vegetables is a beauty to behold.
The Organic ones include a Sweet potato and ginger chili (INR 300) and a Corn fed chicken and white fungus (INR 365). The Healthy Options include the Quinoa and edamame mash (INR 325) and Steamed sea bass with Thai chili (INR 600). The Quinoa and Edamame give off a beautiful crunchy texture on your palate while the Sea Bass seduces with some bold spicy flavours with a soft texture of the fish.
The long list also include a selection steamed and baked momos along with a Barbeque Pulled Pork Bao.
Do try out their Asian Bloody Mary with spicy heat and a cooling Cucumber and Basil mocktail to offset the beautiful meal.
The Dimsum festival goes on from 10th-31st August. So this monsoon season, make your way to Sheraton Saket for some Dimsum heaven.
