Indian wines have forever been an enigma. Being a country of hardcore whisky and beer drinkers, the wine culture is slowly but steadily increasing in our country too. But the lack of knowledge about good Indian wines has always been a deterrent to that. But Fratelli Wines has tied up with JW Marriott, Delhi Aerocity to showcase its best. Aptly titled ‘Celebrating Select Indian Produce’, it features six of Fratelli’s best wines at hugely discounted rates.
The showcase has categorised the wines into 3 flights named after the regions where Fratelli has its vineyards- Motewadi, Nimgaon and Garwar. The wines included in the Motewadi are all white include Gran Cuvee Brut, Vitae Chardonnay and Vitae Tre (a blend of 3 grape varities Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay and Müller- Thurgau). Nimagaon has Gran Cuvee Brut as the option in white with Sangiovese and Sette as the options in red. Garwar on the other hand features two whites in the form of Gran Cuvee Brut and Vitae Chardonnay along with a Sangiovese in red. The most important part is the pricing. All of these flights are priced at INR 1999 AI along with a cheese and olive platter.
The showcase happens at the Oval Bar and continues till November. This nouveau concept allows for the fact that you can actually plan out a night just drinking wine as opposed to other bars. The hotel also plans to do further such events with other wineries making Oval Bar one of the most visible wine bars in the country. A good exposure of Indian wines to the average Indian customer will mean that they can finally have some good quality wines without shedding out a bomb. Wine lovers, take note
