Hauz Khas Village, is a modern day chic village located in New Delhi hosting some of the city’s best restaurants and designer fashion stores. Today we are taking you to a journey of one such restaurant which is making a deep impact in the food and lifestyle scenario of our city. Raasta, a Caribbean style lounge dedicated to the legendary singer from Jamaica, Bob Marley. The place is all about lip-smacking food, rustic ambience and live performances. With a seating capacity to accommodate 100+ people across a lounge area with sinking-in couches, coarse wooden dinner tables with high stools, and a smoking area and bar section.
Together with a delicious fusion of cuisine from Caribbean, South Africa, France, Italy, Japan, to the Far East, and an array of desserts to choose from, your time at Raasta will be most enjoyable.
The list of drinks is too quite elaborate ranging from their signature bongtails, Electric Iced Tea, Shots to gigantic ice-cream shakes like dark chocolate shake.
We started off with their signature Chicken Fafa (₹245). It comprised of diced chicken which is tossed with basil, coconut milk, green chillies, bell peppers and served with flatbread. Next in line was the Veg Mezze Platter (₹525). The falafel balls were moist and it tasted equally good with the dips (hummus, babaganoush and tzatziki). The pita bread was fluffy and warm which gave us the hint of it’s freshness.
For the mains, we tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken (₹475). Hot and juicy Jamaican Jerk Chicken is prepared by using deboned and skinned Chicken which is marinated in Jerk rub and served with garlic lemon mash and salad. Following it was Mushroonoff (₹395) which had a variety of mushroom which is cooked in sauce and is a mixture of coconut milk and cajun spice. The dish is accompanied with steamed rice and was one of the main highlights of our meal. We ended our meal on a sweet note with Lemon tart. The pastry shell had a very citric filling and the short bread crust is to die for. All in all a winner for us.
