This multi-cuisine, all-day dining restaurant has smart, well-appointed interiors and an easy charm that works well for business travellers. Most popular is its buffet section which offers diverse cuisines, with one cuisine cast in the lead each day and the overall menu which changes regularly. The interiors are artistically done with wood and beige neutrals, nice lighting and a magnificent ambiance.
The newest addition of Japanese Counter displaying sushi, sashimi, maki, live teppanyaki and other Japanese delicacies by their resident Japanese chef who is more than willing to satiate your palate. Through this new cuisine, the featured food specialties will inspire the foodies to discover dozens of authentic original recipes and international specialties with a twist.
The menu has been carefully fashioned keeping in mind the sensitive and varied tastes of their clientele, and so to make the experience all the more enjoyable, they have divided their buffet in various counters/section starting from a Soup/Salad counter, followed by the Indian, Oriental(Chinese/Thai), Continental, Italian, Japanese and lastly the Dessert factory. The most impressive is the addition of classical western section. IHG globally has signed 7 Michelin star chefs and use their recipes across their brands.
A sip of the sparkling white wine in the open section, with palm trees illuminated by dimly lit lights, a fantastic bar section, water at footsteps and such serenity, was the perfect start to the wonderful gastronomical journey ahead. Cage G is upfront rectangular in shape, with an open kitchen, a wide and elegant seating area near the buffet spread and an elevated space with two private dining areas, and varied comfortable arrangements dominated by a colorful, chic and vibrant ambiance.
As soon as one enters Café G, they are greeted by a huge, elegant, and beautiful salad/soup counter, displaying one veg and one non-veg soup, an array of freshly baked breads, a magnificent spread of different cheeses and a few snacks to munch along with our drinks, also right behind it was a very colorful and vibrant spread of salads, they have an option of make your own salad, mini portions of exquisite options, cold cuts, fresh fruits and some other great options.
Truffled mushroom and mascapone: an earthy, warm and flavorsome mushroom cappuccino mixed with mascapone to give it the thick, subtle and creamy taste was one hell of soul warming beginning. Followed by mini portions of the five spice chicken salad, bacon hash with eggs and apple salad, zatar spiced fish and mint salad, all the salad tasted fresh and delicious with subtle flavors and balanced textures.
After the soup/salad counter, a long jump was made to the Japanese section, which was their leading cuisine for the day as was newly introduced, two plates full of different sushi, with different accompaniments on one corner, and few options of veggies and raw cuts of salmon, prawns, squid and lobster placed on ice on the other, with live grill in the middle, where one had the option to choose from the protein, veggies to accompany the same, and a choice of rice or noodles, and thereon enjoy the great skills displayed by the Chef while performing tepanyaki. The result was a plate full of mouthwatering offerings.
Thereafter we decided to put a spoonful of a few selective options from various other counters, so that we can savor all cuisines. From the Indian section we tried their, tawe wali machi, tawe ka achari paneer, char magaz aur mater ki shami, murg kali mirch, be it the starters or the main course, everything was really delicious, the proteins were cooked perfectly, the texture was tender and the flavors apt.
The mushroom and leeks ragout stood out with some magnificient flavors. The mushrooms were packed with flavor and the leeks added creaminess to them. Thai green curry was aromatic with the perfect balance of coconut milk and adequate thai flavors.
Though we were stuffed but how could we wrap up the fantastic journey without giving a try to their dessert section, an enormous variety of guilty pleasures, consisted of two hot desserts, and various cold ones in the form of mousse, baklava, tarts, macaroons, mud pie, and what not. The desserts were full of constructive textures, exotic flavors, interesting colors and made up using a plethora of skills and techniques.
Café G is the culmination of plush interiors, sumptuous array of global food, innovative menu, newly introduced live counters, artistic and elegant décor, great music and an attentive and friendly staff.
