New Delhi finally has its own Bar stock exchange which will change the way you party and eat this winter in a fun filled way. Café Dalal Street threw its doors open on 27th November 2015. Conveniently located in the outer circle Connaught Place, Cafe Dalal Street is a joint venture of Himanshu Gupta, Vidit Gupta and Prateek Kochar. A unique concept where prices of the alcohol fall and rise as per the demand of the particular drink and are displayed on the screens all over the place. A dedicated mobile application has also been introduced by the outlet which indeed takes the experience to a new level.
The place is spread across 6000 square feet with a seating capacity of 300 people. A staircase leads you to a dimly lit space with orange light and walls are plastered with Google map of Connaught Place and some witty notes. The restaurant is divided into different sections. There is a VIP Area, a dance floor with a DJ console, booth style sitting and a beautiful terrace overlooking the C.P buildings.
From the cocktail menu THE SOUR TRANSACTION should not be missed, a perfect concoction of bourbon whiskey topped with maraschino cherry and cinnamon stick. THE BANKRUPTCY is also a cocktail which will catch your attention from the cocktails menu. Presented beautifully in a metal lantern with dry ice smoke, it is a blend of Bombay sapphire and vermouth rosso garnished with maraschino.
The extensive menu presents food from all over the world and a few names which might catch your attention. THE BUTTER CHICKEN GOL GAPPE is something you would love to try and have been executed to perfection. THE NON VEG MEZZE PLATTER was massive and delicious. We also tried the FUJIAN CHILLY CHICKEN which too was perfectly balanced in terms of the taste. THE CHICKEN STEAK BURGER was also excellent, soft bun with a juicy patty accompanied with fries. THE MALAYSIAN CHICKE SATAY, nicely glazed with peanut sauce is too recommended.
In a nutshell Café Dalal Street will surely be appreciated by the party lovers of the city. The management has not only executed the concept well but has also given proper attention to the food and beverage. Do visit this café for a night out with your dancing shoes on and some delicious food. Also keep a close eye on the LED screens for the pricing of the booze because if the market crashes you may be get your favourite single malt or your glass of vino at throw away prices.
