Operation India One brings together a socio political potboiler from the hinterlands of India. Set in present day Bihar, Bhagatpur is a place that has been ignored by the government since the Independence. This provides the perfect setup to a personal feud that boils over to the central government and becomes a national issue.
Two sets of idealism erupt as democracy and communism go head on in a war that threatens to break the country apart. ACP Gautam Dhaliwal catches the scent of terrorist organisation as he pursues a lead. Nisha is still trying to solve her father’s murder as she tries to help the people of Bhagatpur. Charulata is trying to free the love of her life. All this gets played across the chessboard that Indian Politics is, with the opposing central and state government try to play a game of one-upmanship.
Shiv Kumar who works as Commercial Tax Officer for the Government of Bihar gives us an in depth view of the politics that goes in the state of Bihar. His engineering skills come to good use with a well-researched power plant that forms the centre of all conflict. The book sets a racy pace from the corridors of Home Ministry to the dustbowls of Bhagatpur as the blood of thousands streak across the pages. Fluidly written, this Bollywood-esque novel will keep you hooked to the end. A few less characters would have kept the book a bit more tighter.
A must read for a journey as the thrilling narration will be a perfect accompaniment to the boring hours.
