Indoo Seth’s first foray into writing plays out a daily occurrence on paper. The book revolves around, Simran a recent divorcee who is trying to piece her life back together while handling a daughter and a business. In walks Rahul, the man who sweeps her off her feet by not really doing much. The romance plays across predictable North Indian lines where it becomes whirlwind only on vacations. The predictability of the plot is actually what keeps the book together. You know where this story is going to lead to, with Simran asking Rahul to tell things to his family finally leading to meltdown.
The book plays out from a scenario point of a woman where we get an insight into her frustrations and sometimes unreasonable demands. The novel also pens down the duality of the female form in her strength and weakness.
The story holds onto you until you realise the ending way before it actually happens. A one time read that might not get finished in the hands of the chauvinistic North Indian male.
