Punjabi Bagh witnessed the opening of yet another café dedicated solely to Bollywood. The dim lit funky interiors of this new gem called “Bollywood Bistro” wil transport you to a movie set and the framed scenes and characters from all the hit films and will surely bring back all the old memories attached to them. The spacious interior is very thoughtfully decorated. They serve North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese and Continental cuisines so don’t fret about variety. The Bollywood theme is quite good but many other restros have already come up with the same so not quite of an innovation. Happy hours spanning the entire day, student discounts and free birthday cake are some of the few added perks one gets on visiting this place. Till the food was served, we spent our time mimicking all the trademark dialogues. Here is the list of things we had :-
Mexicana Pizza which had jalapenos, crumbled nacho chips and kidney beans. True to its Mexican nature, the nacho chips made the pizza crunchy and balanced the soft and gooey cheese. The thin crust pizza was delicious to the last bite.
Soya Chaap Tandoori which had the perfect mix of spices and came with the aromatic mint chutney and decorated with onions. The presentation was heart winning as both the dishes came on skewers dangling upside down. The Chicken Tikka was made perfectly. The chicken retained its softness and was also presented on skewers.
Spring roll chicken came on a cute small sized bicycle whose basket doubled as the container for the spicy and chilly dip. The crust was crunchy whereas the chicken was juicy.
Pasta Primavera with veggies and white sauce was a usual one complemented with garlic bread.
Mutton Seekh Kebab was marinated to perfection filled with tender insides.
Mexican Fajita Chicken which consisted of tortilla filled with chicken and beans topped with sauce and cheese, accompanied with rice pilaf, tomato salsa and sour cream was indeed fabulous.
We chose to go for the conventional North Indian and ordered Dal Makhni, Butter Naan and Anjeeri Malai Kofta which is worth drooling for.
Long Island Ice Tea (LIIT), a great combination of gin, vodka, tequilla, rum, coentreu and lemon juice which is certainly refreshing.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with Banofie Pie.
Team Salt and Sandals would recommend Bollywood Bistro for any social or private gathering and apart from anything be assured of an enjoyable time.
