I recently traveled to Canada for the Vancouver International Wine Festival with Air France and was impressed with their services. As we had booked our tickets through Delta Airlines, our flight to Vancouver had a six-hour layover at Paris. Here is the Air France review for the Economy Class with it’s pros and cons.

Pros of the Air France Review

The Seat

On board the Airbus A380, the economy seats are normal as against the other international flights. There is enough leg space to stretch underneath the front seat along with a small attachment for holding glasses during the flight. I was even able to fold up my feet and cram them below each other to assume a comfortable position. The overhead cabin also offers loads of space for all your luggage. The seat also has a USB insertion port which allows you to charge your phone. The Cabin crew also provides for a blanket and a cushion to relax yourself upon. Do check out their lovely safety instruction video.

Drink

The availability of on-flight alcohol was pretty amazing. For wines, there was a selection of wines including Reserve de Sainte Cecile ’14 Chasam Chardonnay, FamilieCastel ’15 Chardonnay and Reserve de Sainte Cecile ’14 Cabarnet Sauvignon. The continuous service makes for quite a good time while flying. There are snacks like Bruschetta and chocolates to munch on throughout the flight thus making for an invigorating experience.

The In-Flight Entertainment

We specially loved the safety instruction announcement which was made in a typical chic manner of the French. The entertainment also has a host of multi-lingual movies that you can choose from along with a host of serials.

Cons

Food

One thing that we essentially did not enjoy onboard our flight from New Delhi to Paris was the food that was served. A cold Daal Makhni and a Chicken Tikka Masala which had coagulated to create a mass that was supposed to be eaten with rice. An absolute no-no. But compared to that, the Fish Pie with cold bread on the Paris-Vancouver leg was really delicious.

Paris Airport

Two things stood out at Paris Airport disappointed me a lot. Firstly, during the transition, where any liquids you are carrying including wines are seized. Secondly, the Charles De Gaulle Airport does not have any provision for drinking water. After roaming around quite a bit of the airport, I found a glass of water at a Starbucks. It’s pretty amusing when airport security confiscates all your water and there is no water available for free. You have to buy a 500ml bottle of water for €3.
