Working out of a co-working space has always been a dream of mine. Although I have heard all the familiar corporate horror stories from Snigdha who used to work at E&Y, I still ache to experience the work in a corporate office style setting. Now that isn’t quite possible with my scenario, but a co-working office is definitely something I can look at. So when WeWork, a co-working space that already has offices in three major cities around the country invited us over for a chat with Chef Matthew Hodgett, a Michelin starred pastry Chef cooking at Le Cordon Blue London along with Chef Manish Mehrotra, I wasn’t going to refuse.
Although I am quite impressed by the expansive spaces at WeWork along with a plethora of amenities, the one thing that impresses me the most are the number of events they do to make for an interactive session. Our fire chat with the two chefs was all about understanding the business of running a restaurant including Chef Hodgett’s love for desserts.
There was also some food for thought, 3 desserts from MIAM by Bani combined with wines while I implored Chef Hodgett to tell us about his experience with Indian desserts. “Although I find the Indian desserts a tad on the sweeter side, I definitely try and use some of the Indian spices in my desserts, something like a Saffron Creme Brulee”. WeWork also offers it’s users quite a few other amenities, including an open pantry and meeting rooms along with Beverages.
Do check out WeWork the next time you’re looking at an co-working space or even need a place to meet your clients.
