About the book- Dark Blossom
Dark Blossom is a story on relationship between a patient (who has recently lost his family in a car accident) and his therapist. The story’s lead is a female and its quiet refreshing to see a man (i.e. Neel Mullick) write from a women perspective.
My review {no spoilers}
Very honestly when I started reading this book, I got really disturbed. Disturbed to an extend where I did not want to read it further. But the way Neel Mullick has written the narrative, it kept on intriguing me to go back to reading. Finally after few weeks, I decided to continue the reading and I am glad that I did.
The second lead (i.e. Sam) of the story loses his family i.e. his wife and young son (i.e. Will). Neel Mullick paints a very painful image of Sam where he can’t get over the grief of losing his family. What pained me the most was to see Sam’s story where he had made his family, the center of his universe. With no friends to catch up or family who could genuinely understand Sam, his family was the only one who he interacted with.
The main lead (i.e. Cynthia) is also in a complicated life situation where she has recently left her husband and she is trying to handle her teenage daughter (i.e. Lily) single handedly. The beauty of the book is how both characters knowingly/unknowingly end up helping each other.
The book is written beautifully and is a very light read. If you let your imagination run lose, you can actually visualize each and every scene in your head.
