Zorawar Kalra’s modern Indian restaurant, Farzi Cafe has been making news all over the world but amidst all the humdinger, another outlet of theirs opened in Delhi. Located in Delhi’s newest F&B destination, the World Mark at Aerocity, it is a stylish, chic restaurant which not only manages to keep the classic Farzi flavours alive but also adds a few more it, including live performances which keep the mood going aburst.
The two storied restaurant is a visual treat in itself. Right from the bar on the ground floor that announces it’s cocktails on the top to the winding staircase the leads to bigger tables on the upper floor, the Farzi Cafe offers you enough space to enjoy your evening absolutely the way you want to.
The Farzi Cafe Aerocity offers a range of tit bits that showcase the best of Indian flavours but cooked in a style that resembles award winning Chefs of the West. Modern Indian food may have been the bane for a multitude of restaurants trying to wash their hands on it’s popularity, but Kalra’s restaurant not only has preserved the flavours but promoted this particular brand of food all over the world, quite evident from the running ones at Dubai among other International locations.
The menu at Farzi features a plethora of cocktails that express the best of Indian flavours, including a Chai Paani which brings the quintessential flavour of Indian tea to the fore. There’s also a Farzi Apple Foamtini that gives you a Foam Moustache every time you take a sip. The Chuski Margarita and the Gulab Jamun are another two that you must try out.
Let’s get on to the food now. The Daal Chawal Arancini has been a favourite of mine at the Farzi Cafe and it continues to do so even at this outlet. Just like it’s mother outlet at CyberHub, Gurgaon, the burst of flavours on the palate is exhilarating. I absolutely fall in love with the Keema Kulcha which is served with a Mint Jalapeno Raita and Tempura Fried Prawns with a Nimboo Mirch Air. I also decide to dig into the Mutton Gilafi Seekh Roll which pretty much dissolves on the palate.
The Tandoori Goat Shoulder and the Smoked Kakori Kebab are two dishes that you must try out along with the Herb Crusted Paneer Tikka and the Chicken Tikka Masala along with a Cornish Cruncher Naan. Before you end off, you must try out the Ras Malai Tres Leches which has a layer of Gajar ka Halwa between two pieces of Rasmalai along with the Farzi classic Parle G Cheesecake. Do head to the Farzi Cafe at the Aerocity to try out some of the modern Indian cuisines along with live performances that you’ll enjoy quite a bit.
