Baos are one dish that I have always enjoyed. The sweet soft bun encasing a ton of meat inside always has invoked happy memories. The Baos here feature a Duck cooked with a sauce and a Chicken one also. The flavours are exactly typical to what you’ll find on a bustling night market on the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
Indian flavours has had quite a major impact on the food of Malaysia and Roti Canai Curry is testament to the fact. Made quite similar to the Mughlai Parantha in the East or the Mutton Parantha down south, this filled up bread is served with a curry that’s spicy and tangy at the same time along with a delectable salad. The Chicken Satay is one of the iconic Malaysian dishes and the one at Jom Jom Malay is perfectly on point. Served with a Peanut sauce and crunchy Sabudana Papad along with that.
From the mains, we select the Chicken Rendang Curry and a Nasi Goreng which is filled to the brim with seafood. But it’s the dessert which has me floored.
