My Experience at the Academy of Pastry Arts

As soon as I entered the academy, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon cake. If looks could kill you, I would have definitely died admiring the beautiful cake displays and sugar work.

Chef Jean Francois Arnauld conducting the workshop

I was greeted by Dinesh who took me on the tour of the property. I got the opportunity to see Chef Jean Francois Arnauld, MOF conduct his workshop. Totally professional and precise workshop, it felt as if I have entered the set of Masterchef Australia. The participating young pastry chefs were busy working and trying to impress Chef Jean with their handskills.

Chocolate aeroplanes

Next on my tour was a class of students who were practicing their baking skills and writing all their doubts. The third room consisted of students learning how to bake blackforest cake, mocha cake, swiss roll and mille feulle. In the fourth room there was a practical exam going on for graduating student, they were being judged on the chocolate ganache. The whole tour was such a beautiful experience.

Dinesh genuinely saved the best for the last, he took me to this exhibit area where there was a display of six aeroplanes made out of chocolate. It was such a visual delight. Dinesh was able to convince me to attend one of their workshops for amateurs and I shall be writing a hands on review on their classes soon!
