It is reassuring when a top international fast food brand takes customer feedback seriously, and so early on into their launch. Within a few weeks of opening their first outlet in India (Gurgaon), they received good reviews. Yet, in their strife to be better, they urged their customers to provide them with real time feedback. Equipped with the responses received from their enthusiastic customers, regarding the items on the menu, they revamped and came up with bigger, better and more enhanced dishes. The menu remains the same, just tastes better than before.

When Wendy’s India invited bloggers, reviewers and food experts for a second take on this improvised menu items, we were in for a pleasant surprise. A lazy Saturday morning, we arrive there to be welcomed by their wonderful team of PR/Marketing/restaurant crew. Lazy as we were, we started off with some good cappuccinos, warming up for the tasting.

Once settled, the team advised us to feel free to order whatever we like from the menu, as samplers and taste the difference from before. We chatted up with the team to understand how and where they have implemented changes and added to the recipes. They advised us in details how they have added more cheese, or changed the sauces layering the burgers, added more bacon (Yay!), or more mushroom, based on the feedback received from the customers. One thing that they had heard from customers was there a certain dryness to some of the burgers and so Wendy’s tried and changed that completely, adding juicer patty or creamier sauces to the layers.

However, the most exciting improvement (if I may say so) for a non-vegetarian would be the addition of 3 extra pieces of bacon to their double baconator!!! So, now we get 6 strips of crispy bacon on top of a very juicy, yummy burger patty 🙂 ! Though the double baconator can be the high point in their menu, the spicy aloo crunch from their veg options is no less. Even a hardcore non-vegetarian person would agree how good and amazing the spicy aloo crunch burger is!

We did also try a  few others from the menu including the cheesy mushroom, the classic chicken burger, the paneer pesto salad, the french fries, and the banana caramel frosty. Truly, everything has been improvised.

But, a special mention goes to their coffee. Unexpectedly for a QSR, they have some good coffee. Both my cappuccino and the black Americano were satisfying enough. And their hospitality was very good as well. the restaurant manager took personal care at each table and checked on the service, sat down to chat with us and ensured a perfect experience.

Wendy’s is gearing up to launch multiple outlets across multiple cities in India by this October. Am I glad that the first one is so close to where I live!
