Australia is one of my favourite destinations to vacation in. With a plethora of outdoor activities possible all over Australia, there is something for everyone to do. But before you plan out your trip to Australia, it is essential to buy travel insurance online, especially travel insurance Australia. Although it might feel like a burden which adds to your expenses, but the number of problems you can run into while travelling can easily empty out your savings. These include health emergencies along with getting robbed or missing flights. A travel insurance helps insure you against a lot of these emergencies so that you can enjoy your vacation without any stress. After you are done with the tickets, insurance and visa, it is time to plan out your itinerary. I am penning down a few of the activities in Australia that you should definitely try out.

Road tripping in NSW

All of Australia is gorgeous, but the NSW coastline is particularly famous for its stunning ocean scenery. Perfectly located between Victoria and Queensland, heading north or south will provide options such as Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Byron Bay, all with waterfront accommodation and dining options. Inland is the Blue Mountain and country music capital of Australia, Tamworth. A road trip is one of the activities in Australia that you must do.

Wineries in South Australia

Australian wine is world class and some of the nation’s most renowned estates are situated around South Australia. The Barossa Valley is the largest with over 80 cellar doors to choose from, followed closely by McLaren Vale. The Clare Valley is only 90 minutes from the capital, Adelaide, and is a must for white wine fans, especially Riesling lovers. Whether you move through many cellar doors or pick one location to enjoy a long lunch, the choice is yours. It is one of the few wine based activities in Australia that you’ll truly enjoy.

Entertainment in Melbourne

Melbourne really shines when it comes to arts and culture. So whether you head to free exhibitions at the National Gallery or check out the centre for the moving image ACMI or head a bit out of the CBD to the Heide Gallery, there will be many options for fine art lovers. Major theatres will offer shows from large-scale musicals and dramas to stand-up comedy and live music at one of the hundreds of bars. Go to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for grass, seats and beer. Watching cricket is one of my favorite activities in Australia. The Australia Open closely follows, all you’ll need to do is head to Melbourne Park, a mere walk across from the MCG.

Brisbane

Being a river city, Brisbane has got #riverlife down to a tee, helped along by its warm and often humid climate. The inner part of the city has South Bank complete with bars, restaurants, parks and a manmade lagoon you can swim in. Along the western end, you’ll find an abundance of weekend markets as well as gastropubs and live music venues for nightlife, including several upmarket cocktail bars. The New Farm area along the river is home to the sensationally converted art space, the Powerhouse, previously an old power station. You’ll find comedy, music, ballet and theatre of all sorts here. Bonus points for the open air cinema that runs in summer.
