Smoke and spice go well with a winter night, specially if you like hot food items off a skewer. Or maybe various kinds of North Indian and Mughlai kebabs, or even a lollipop made of chicken, of course. Almost everything at Kebab Gali at Malvia Nagar is made for those who prefer the pleasures of the flesh and spicy North Indian food. As a chilly wind blows through Delhi, the fragrance of smoked kebabs and various North Indian delicacies almost force one to stop and join the crowd enjoying such flavourful meal in this newly opened restaurant in Malvia Nagar

What brings the faithful here? “The taste, hygiene and price. You won’t find these prices anywhere too easily specially in a North Indian and Mughlai restaurant located in South Delhi.
The Vegetarian Menu boosts of delicious delicacies such as Dahi Ke Kebab, hung curd dumplings fried till being golden in colour. It scores high points and satisfy my palate. A decent, tender and mildly flavoured dish which so soft that it melts the moment it touches the palate. For the mains one must opt for their Paneer Makhani which is consisting of butter and cottage cheese. Next to follow was the vegetable dum biryani. It was served in a ‘mitti’ or clay utensil in which it was cooked with the ‘dum’ intact. The safron colored rice grains were well separated and were lovely to taste. The vegetables in the biryani were well cooked and flavory.
We absolutely fall in love with the non vegetarian menu. Consisting of delectable and rare recipes. Garlic Chicken tikka was a gem of dish. The amount of garlic was perfect, neither too pungent nor too mild. The Mutton galouti kebab is simply made with minced meat. The lamb meat is cooked in butter, roasted chana dal and spices. A great appetiser can be cherished with warqi parantha.
Main highlight of the day for us was undoubtedly the Dohra Kebab. It was recommended to us by the owners as one of their signature dish. A combination of chicken and mutton seekh kebab. It is spicy, flavourful and an unique appetiser.
Non vegetarian mains consisted of Mutton Nihari and Chicken korma. Mutton nihari was juicy and spicy the way we like it. Chicken korma with a dash of lemon juice in it made it an ideal main. Polish it with Laccha parantha and Butter naan.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with their signature old delhi dessert “Shahi Tukda“ and all time favourite “Gulab jamun”.
In a nutshell, A very cosy and warm restaurant. It is here to carry forward the legacy of authentic North Indian and Mughlai food.
