We fell in love with Turkish food when we travelled there in December to visit Izmir. But after coming back to India, we were hardly able to find Turkish food here. So when Turkish Airlines was organising a Turkish food festival at Hyatt Regency Gugaon, I immediately headed over to have a taste. Graced by the Turkish Ambassador to India, the festival was conducted by Chef Sonay Oguz from the Hyatt Regency Istanbul. As this was his third trip here, he decided to bring a stack of Turkish spices to cook with.

What all we tried out at the Turkish Food Festival?

We tried out a range of Turkish dips to go along with the Pita Bread. The spicy salsa took on some lovely flavours of tang and spice. I topped it up with some olives to make it even more tangier. For the mains, Chef served out a Lamb Meat Kebab which literally dissolved on the palate yet left a distinct array of flavours on the palate. He served out the Kebabs with a platter of flattened wheat. Another dish that caught my eye was the Rice cooked inside an onion served over a layer of yogurt.

I ended my meal with a delectable selection of desserts from Turkey. I leave you with a photograph of the same to tantalize your taste buds. Do head over to the festival to try out some delectable Turkish food and do let us know how you liked it.
