There are lot of places in Delhi that are offering rocking music, lip smacking food and refreshing cocktails. What if we add another element in it?.  These days sports bars are a trending hangout for college students and corporate houses. One can enjoy his/her favourite game over good food, sporty ambience and lot more. Today it’s about a cheerful sports bar called Underdoggs Sport Bar and Grill at Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj. The property is huge and kudos to them for properly utilising it. The place boosts every necessity a sports bar should have like 40 HDTVs & 4 projection screens, besides a live sports channel with highlights on various sports.

We started with some of their signature cocktails/mocktails. Robin Van Berry (Rs 225) is a mock tail which is a tribute to Netherland’s striker Robin Van Persie. Consisting of Cranberry juice and passion fruit juice along with orange chunk and soda. The two juices form different layers of colour resembling a sunset. It is refreshing and one of our recommendations. Dimsum vs Momo (Rs 175) is Delhi’s favourite Tandoori momos with a touch of Underdoggs to it. The Freshly steamed Momos are marinated in the Bar be Que Masala for almost 3-4 hours before being put through the Seekh in the Tandoor. The freshness of the Momos adds to the taste. The Chicken masala inside the Momos, is juicy & is mildly spiced to blend nicely in the striking taste of the Tandoori marinate.

Underdoggs Chicken Kabaddi (Rs 325) is Skeweres of charcoal grilled chicken mince with ginger, green chillies, cumin and Fresh coriander. One of the major highlight for us was surely the mutton raan served on butter naan. Tender and juicy, it had all flavours that one can expect in a mutton raan and serving it on a naan makes it more easier as it can be consumed as roll. Next on our plate was The Makhani Pizza. The trick to come up with your own fusion dish is to use a recipe as the “base” and then replace a key ingredient with something from another culture. The sauce and cheese used on Pizza are perfect targets and makhani masala takes care of both. If you wanted to make it even more Indian, you could replace the pizza crust with a naan.

In a nutshell,  a great choice if you don’t want the pomp of fine dining and fancy designer bars. What I loved most was overall experience that Underdoggs sports bar and grill offers , good ambiance , sporty decor , activity areas , a very well stocked bar and casual but carefully done food .
