The newly opened OKO at
The Lalit New Delhi

Pan Asian restaurants overlooking the Delhi’s skyline are one thing that I love quite a bit. The newly opened OKO at The Lalit New Delhi is a continuation of their brand which has become a hit over four cities now. Located on the 28th floor overlooking Lutyen’s Delhi, the restaurant features five different cuisines along with a few remnants from the Chinese restaurant that used to exist in Lalit almost two decades ago, The Noble House. The restaurant gives off all the chic fancy ministrations that new-age restaurants have. There is a digital menu which switches between all the five cuisines along with a digital tour of Delhi’s monuments while you order your food. There’s also a Sushi Bar along with a Teppan Grill which allows you a look at live cooking. But even with all the Shenanigans, what really stands out at OKO are the flavours.

Vietnamese Spring Roll

As Japanese is ruling our minds at the moment, we started off with some Sashimi and Sushi. The Eel Sashimi with a delicate sweet taste and the Rainbow Sushi with it’s multitude of flavours makes for an interesting combination with the Sawanotsuru Namazake. We follow it up with some crispy Vietnamese Rolls. Laced with crunchy vegetables and Crabstick, the light yet spicy flavours are quite a mouthful. The Chinese part of the menu features an array of Dimsum which burst upon the palate with an explosion of flavours.

After a warm lovely soup, we decided to head off to the mains where we tried out a spicy, eggy, nutty Pad Thai with an appropriate amount of sour and sauteed Chinese Greens that can a with any type of rice. We end our meal with one of my favourites, the Tub Tim Krob, a decadent mixture of water chestnuts in a creamy coconut milk which has been chilled down.
