Finding Chinese and Pan Asian food in the Trans Yamuna are is quite a tirade. Although a few Pan Asian chains have set up shop in the Place of India Mall, but a fine dine restaurant offering a modicum of authencity lacked in this area. Although the patronage of Noida and Ghaziabad has changed over the years with the IT hub generating offshore jobs quite rapidly, pretty similar to that in Gurgaon, but the restaurant menus are still focussed on North Indian, Mughlai and Indianised versions of everything. With quite some trepidation, I visited the Ni Hao at Radisson Blu Noida and was quite impressed by the food on offer.

What we tried out at Ni Hao?

At Ni Hao (meaning happiness in Chinese) not only the food but even the decor screams Pan Asian. The woodwork panels on the walls along with a Chinese lantern hanging bang in the middle of the restaurant provides an ambience that is well matched with the tinkling music that’s so typical of Chinese restaurants. A clear view from the kitchens also offers how the Chefs hustle about making up the different plates of Dimsums while I sit down to sip a glass of Merlot ‘15 from the Tarapaca valley in Chile.

My meal starts off with Ni Hao’s speciality soup: the Chicken Pot. Loaded with Tofu, Shittake Mushrooms, Chinese Cabbage, Glass Noodles and Seafood, this nourishing soup is quite flavourful and sits quite well on the palate. The menu features an amazing range of Dimsums. Our recommendations includes the Prawn and Water Chestnut Shumai, Smoked Duck dumpling, Pork and Walnut dumpling and the Trio of Mushroom and Bok Choi Kothe.

If you’re planning to try out the Pecking Duck or a Crispy Squid Burnt Garlic, the exquisite authentic flavours makes it one place that you should definitely head to. Although I am a hardcore non-vegetarian, but the Crispy Lotus Stem is something that I love a lot. The one made here has an explosion of sweet flavours on the palate. The Sauteed Prawn with Bird Eye Chilli in Basil Sauce along with a Hunan styled Lamb is my accompaniment for the Shandong Fried Rice. I end my meal with Date Pancakes served with a scoop of fried ice cream.

Ni Hao at Radisson Noida Sec-55 offers some scrumptious and authentic Chinese flavours that you must try out.
