The effervescent Depot 29 has come out with its summer menu and it’s fabulous. A brainchild of Ritu Dalmia, Vikas Narula and Girijashankar Vohra. Depot 29 has slowly but steadily become one of the most wanted party destinations in South Delhi. With live gigs every Friday and Sunday, the place promises some lip smacking food with an modern ambiance offset with the bit of age old cassettes. The menu draws it’s inspiration from Mexico with bits of tacos, empanadas and quesadillas and some from America too. We tell you the 5 reasons you should try it out on your next night out.
Pulled pork Quesadilla: The pulled pork quesadilla combines the sweetness of the pork with the earthy taste of beans in a wondrous combination. Some sour yogurt and a spicy sauce just increase the complexity of flavours.
Chicken Empanadas: The crispy packed Empanadas with piping hot chipotle marinated chicken along with corn, cheese and jalapeno served with a herbed salsa The combination of spicy, tangy taste and a melt in your mouth texture is something that needs to be experienced to believe.
Duck Burger: Rare as it may sound, a perfectly prepared duck had immense amount of flavours. Starkly different from chicken, the duck needs tenderisation before becoming fit for consumption. The Duck Burger here has a juicy tender patty with a load of caramelised onions and a green apple sauce that give it a distinct sweet taste. Some crisp cut French fries and a salad of carrots and beets with a heavy dose of Balsamic vinegar accompany it.
Gingranate: A cocktail perfect for the summer with a heady mix of gin, pomegranate juice and lemon wedges to give you a burst with sweet and sour with the added fizz.
Waffles: Their waffles are one of the best in Delhi, Period. This time it’s the twin flavours of berries and chocolate. With Mascarpone cream, ice cream and some extra Berry compote and Chocolate to boost, this is one sinful dessert to be devoured.
