New menus always bring across a joy to my palate. It’s a harbinger of flavours along with new creations of a chef. These new creations bring a new lease of life to the dining experience. Although Tamra at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel has been getting overshadowed by the newly opened Sorrento and Shang Palace, but it forces it way through again. This time, through a new menu curated by Executive Sous Chef Gagandeep Singh Sawhney. He along with the expat Chef Nish are giving Tamra’s menu a Thai twist that will play on your palates for a very long time.

Appetisers

Fresh juicy prawns rolled up in rice noodles, dabbed with a dash of Namji sauce and the explosion of hot piping flavours along with the textures will delight you. A Som Tam salad that will test the best of you. With heat that is high yet makes you come back for more, the rustic presentation of the raw papaya salad draws you in.

The decrease in the heavy dressing works wonders while the Iranian spiced prawns with Saffron is a perfect accompaniment to it. He followed it up with a Paneer Tikka that forever changed our outlook on the dish. He stuffed the delicately flavoured tikka with Aam Papad. The accentuated sweet and spicy flavours work a wonder with the dish.

Mains

Tamra New MenuThe mains see an upgrade too with a Tamra special Naan coming to the fore. With flavours of Cheese and Italian herbs, it serves as an unexpected yet fruitful combination with the Dhaba Chicken that is served up. Chef Nish again saunters in with her infectious smile and food that is truly cooked from the heart. This time she has a flavourful img_20160924_143632147-800x600Tilapia for us with a Green Curry and Jasmine rice. The light yet fragrant flavours play a dance of sweetness, spicy and tang on the palate.

Chef Sawhney does not let us leave before trying out Tamra’s special chocolate. With hot molten chocolate on top with berries to cut across the sweetness. Do try out these new offerings at Tamra, Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel and let us know what you liked.
