IMG-20151017-WA0012Located in the leafy surroundings of the diplomatic zone in Chanakyapuri lies a culinary gem called Amreli in Hotel Diplomat. Amreli opened quite sometime back, and it replaced the Olive Beach in Hotel Diplomat. The space emanates cheer. The walls are covered with art, the furniture is a quirky mix of styles, and the crockery has been custom-made. It even has a separate bar area with fancy wallpaper.

The menu has been crafted by Chef Saby (Sabyasachi Gorai) and is quite eclectic. Oriental food sits side by side with a great Indian menu so that you keep coming back to Amreli even if you have a craving for different cuisines.

IMG-20151017-WA0011In the mains, without any debate the Red Thai Curry was the undisputed winner.A traditional fiery red Thai curry simmered with assorted vegetables. An excellent complement to steamed rice. Coming to the down south of India, Chef made us try his signature Chettinad curry with flaky appams and crispy Malabar parantha.
