The love of whisky with the Indian public knows no bounds so when Glenfiddich decides to launch two absolutely new flavours, we were super happy and decided to try out it to bring you an exclusive review of these two whiskies. Glenfiddich India decided to launch the new Glenfiddich whisky in an event at the soon to be opened pub, The Quorum in Two Horizon Centre, Gurugram. The two flavours are IPA and Project XX and here is why you should try them both out.

The first new Glenfiddich Whisky: IPA

The story of the Indian Pale Ale is quite an illustrious one. It had been specifically created by an English brewer in the 1800s to survive the long arduous 6-month journey to the Indian shores. So when the famous malt master combined with a boutique beer brewer, they decided to create magic. They decided to use American Oak casks which were filled with a brew of the Indian Pale Ale and allowed to mature. Right after they were matured, the whisky was filled in and then allowed to mature. A light flavoured and young whisky was used to complement the hoppy notes without overpowering them.

The whisky has a very refreshing citrusy opening to it and later finishes off with the usual spicy tones. I also tried out an Whisky Sour which is the perfect cocktail for this Glenfiddich new whisky

The second new Glenfiddich New Whisky: Project XX

The Project XX involved twenty of the brand ambassadors of Glenfiddich whisky coming together at the Conval warehouse where every different kind of whisky casks are stored, from the port casks to the sherry ones. Malt Master Brian Kinsman then told these ambassadors to find out their favourite cask. He then brewed a small batch of whisky from these different casks to create a new Glenfiddich whisky.

The diversity of flavours is something that is truly amazing on this one. There are notes of cinnamon along with the tannicity from the Port Wine cask. I tried out my classic Ol’ Fashioned along with this.

Both the whiskies are available in the range of INR 4200-4500 in Delhi NCR and Mumbai.
