Ambience and Decor

: As soon as I entered I was love with the property which commands a nice, green view of the area from its small but well designed outdoor seating. Upon entering, the place looks small, but there are 3 floors and basement, each with different decor and ambiance including one outdoor section. We were particularly impressed by the wall art and innovative use of furniture and space. Spread over three floors, this beautiful eatery is done up mostly in whites and greens. Street lamps and white floor with yellow lights and tango music which gets you Indulged into the charm of this place.

 

Food Talks

 

During my recent visit I came to know that Schengen is hosting a” Italian Food Festival” which is in operation from July 10th to July 19th. The basic idea behind is to keep focus on different types of European Cuisine under an umbrella of a festival.

 

The customized menu is designed by the genius chef Piyush Jain which had a bouquet of Italian dishes that are chef recommendations, Hot selling items and latest addition to their menu.

Journey started with their Minestrone soup called “Minestrone alla Genovese”. Which is an authentic Italian souo serving with cannellini beans,penne,grissini and a hint of olive oil on top of it. Star of the day for me was the beetroot salad called ” Barbabietola rossa ,arancione insalata” which is a roasted beetroot and orange segment dressed with lemon honey.

 

It was followed by Quiche degi Spinaci and Bruschetta Pizzaiola.
IMG-20150716-WA0006Quiche degli spinaci is a spinach stuffed small tart shell served with melted cheddar cheese on top which just melts into your mouth. Bruschetta Pizzaiola is the most authentic way of serving bruschetta it is served with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese,cherry tomato and basil.IMG-20150716-WA0001

The Handmade Pasta segment stole the show. Gnocchi di patate crema di gorgonzola is potato gnocchi, served with blue cheese sauce ,basil and tomato skin.

I highly recommend their take on sols fish. The dish “Fileto de pesce alla griglia patate brasato, caroge glasate al balsmico” is grilled sole fish which is served with Braised potato, balsamic glazed carrot served with lemon  caper sauce. IMG-20150716-WA0007

To continue the journey further we tried the Freddo piatto di salmone cured is a house smoked cured salmon, served with beetroot glaze and U.S lemon.

 

The journey ended on a sweet note with “Mango Semifreddo” a dessert which is all about mango. I am not a mango lover but still I loved this dessert. Served with mango sauce and Brule mango cubes, mascarpone quenelle and fresh mint.

 

In a nutshell :  A Schengen visa allows you to visit all over the European Union and Schengen Deli does the same with the food. So an appeal to all our readers to pay a visit to Schengen and savour one of the most authentic tribute to Italian cuisine by Chef Piyush
