The Christmas celebrations begin at the lobby level of Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. It was on December 5th 2015 when the management of the hotel unveiled 25 feet tall Christmas tree expertly crafted with 3000 discarded compact discs. These discs were contributed by different departments of the hotel and also the in house guests. The special tree is a symbol of the hotel’s belief in using the e waste thus reaffirming its motto of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.

It was an extremely pleasant atmosphere, a lot of kids were invited and the hotel had some great activities to keep the little ones involved with some fun activities. They were taken into a fascinating chocolate factory of Willie Wonka where master chefs prepared some freshly made chocolates to pamper their taste buds, while Santa Claus kept giving rounds to shower them with loads of candies and gifts.

The children also wrote their wish lists of the gifts they desire on cute little post cards which were specially designed for the evening, and posted them in a Red post box placed specially for the purpose so that the postcards reach the Santa Claus’ village in Rovaniemi, Lapland in Finland. Out of the post cards collected in the letter box children stand to win ‘Golden Tickets’ which will get them free entry to  Le Meridien New Delhi’s annual Christmas carnival ‘Santa’s Pal’ on December 25 2015.

The event ended with high tea with a nice buffet of refreshments for the guests. Indeed a great evening spent with the kids to kick start the month of December and the festive season.
