I was coming off a sabbatical and the first food joint I visited just after my exams got over was the China Club in Gurgaon. Located inside the corporate hub of Global Business Park near Guru Dronacharya Metro, it is an authentic Schezwan restaurant that you shouldn’t miss out on. I absolutely fell in love with the high ceilings of the restaurant along with its chic seating arrangement. A large wine menu also complements the meal. The menu appears quite extensive and the splattering of nonvegetarian items does draw me in. A few reasons why I enjoyed the food at this restaurant is due to the fact that expat chefs from China cook using condiments which are exported from mainland China.

What did we eat at the China Club?

We do recommend starting off with the crispy deep fried prawns. Although huge in size, the prawns have a lovely coating and are doused in a sauce of chilies. A dumpling promotion that goes on until the end of this month has got a decadent Pork Bao for you to explore. The sweet flavors are something that you’ll enjoy a lot.

One of my favorite Chinese dishes: Peking Duck

The Peking Duck is one of the famous dishes to come out of China. The well-cooked duck is sliced up into thin slices which are then rolled up inside a thin sheet along with cucumber and a sweet sauce. The combination of the umami and the sweetness gives it a tremendous burst of flavors. We decide to finish off with Double cooked Pork and some Garlic Noodles. The use of cumin in the double cooked pork gives it a flavor that I have enjoyed only once before.

So Gurgaon people if you’re planning to polish off some authentic Cantonese food without heading to Central Delhi, China Club is your place to be.
