We can only imagine how hard it must be for the brides and their families to look for the perfect wedding trousseau. With several exceptionally talented fashion designers to choose from, it is not only tiring but somewhat impossible to visit their stand alone stores and go through their entire collection. This is where a brilliant concept called Ensemble steps in. A brain child of one of the leading designers of India — Tarun Tahiliani and later developed by his genius sister, Tina Tahiliani Parikh, Ensemble became the first luxury multi brand store providing talented Indian Designers a platform to showcase their work since December, 1987.

Ensemble is that sacred cathedral where you will find all the gods of the Indian fashion industry. You would want to kneel in front of their divine ensembles, light a candle and stare at them all day.
Team Salt and Sandals made a pilgrimage to this holy place to review the latest bridal trousseau exhibition showcasing the collection of the likes of Pankaj and Nidhi, Abhishek Sharma, Nakul sen and many more.

Nakul Sen

Team Salt and Sandals was fortunate enough to get into a candid conversation with the designer, Abhishek Sharma. Talking about his collection called ‘ Kaanch ‘ , he says that the latter is inspired by a vintage chandelier. The hues dispersed from the glass form the basis of the the type of sequins and embroidery incorporated in the collection. When asked about the real life inspiration of the collection, the couturier says that he fell in awe of his friend’s grandmother’s traditional glass bangles when he was visiting them and it immediately struck him to base his collection around the grandeur of glass. The designer is well known for his modern take on the traditional clothing and in this collection also he has kept the silhouettes bold, classy yet traditional. Talking about the men’s collection, he says that he has designed it vey subtly so as to let the grooms decide how they want to layer it up.
