Kashmiri food in all its authentic glory has flavours that will amaze everyone. This is what happened when we ordered in some food from Daawat e Kashmir, a small home delivery service that has opened up in Gurgaon. Daawat E Kashmir focuses on one of the lesser known cuisines of Kashmir, the Hindu Pandit one. Pretty much similar to the Muslim one, there is use of a plethora of spices and chilli. The menu also has a few tit bits of Mughlai thrown in.

What we had.

We start off with a Afghani Chicken Tikka, one of the Mughlai dishes we mentioned on the menu. Soft chicken which falls off the bone marinated in yoghurt and other spices. But it’s there mains that draws us in with some distinct flavours of Kashmir. Murgh Yakhni, Kashmiri Dum Aloo and Mutton Roganjosh all stay true to their distinct taste. Do give Daawat E Kashmir a try for their authentic Kashmiri Pandit cuisine.
