Edesia at Crowne Plaza Okhla is making sure that we can enjoy the flavors of Dilli 6, sitting in South Delhi. From the decor to the menu curation to fun activities, a well conceptualized food pop up.

Decor

The decor is colorful and inspired from the streets of Dilli 6. Khari Baoli- the biggest spice market in Asia also makes a debut at Edesia. The decor has a lot of movie posters, celebrating the Old Delhi’s single movie screens. The kites and fairy lights are added throughout the venue, creating a very vibrant and lovely atmosphere. Small fun kiosks of “chaiwala“, “paanwala“, “chaatwala” etc are curated to perfection, the events team has done a fantastic job recreating the Dilli 6 atmosphere.

Activities

Edesia has made sure that there are fun activities which makes the whole dilli-6 experience more authentic. There is a palm reader and a parrot foretelling the future. There is a mailbox with postcards, where you can write letters to your loved ones and they would be later on posted. The entertainment factor is taken to the next level with the staff members of Edesia coming together as a flash mob on a popular Bollywood song.

The main highlight of the evening is the “Paratha eating competition”. The Paratha is 22″ in diameter and if you single handedly eat it, under 10 minutes, you win a free night stay at Crowne Plaza Okhla. We guys decided on having a group paratha eating competition and trust me it was difficult to finish the whole paratha in a group, so I can only imagine it eating alone.

Food

The food is wonderful and I absolutely enjoyed it. The chefs have tried to keep the food as authentic as possible but less heavier/oilier. The must tries from their menu are the chaats, Nihari, paratha, Kadi pakoda, Pindi Cholien, Kaitra Gond ka Sharbat and Daulat ki Chaat.

Loved the food spread at Edesia
