2nd Indian Wine Day at
The Lalit New Delhi

The Indian Wine industry seems to be growing at quite a steady pace, as was evident by the 2nd Indian Wine Day which was celebrated across 9 Indian cities and London. Paired with a decadent menu from the kitchens of the Lalit Hotels, we tried out some of the best wines from all over the country. We tell you about some of our favourite combinations that totally had us floored.

What wines we tried at the Indian Wine Day?

Seekh Kebab is one of my favourite dishes and combining it with any wine is quite interesting. It was served out with the York Arros ‘16 Cabarnet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend which has a deep booming taste of Red fruits and moderate yet unpolished tannins.

With the SETTE from Fratelli, the team at the Lalit New Delhi served out a delectable Chicken Curry along with their famous Dal Baluchchi. The wine in itself is quite interesting. Finished in some French Oak, the wine has quite some mature tannins that make for quite an interesting combination.

Grover Zampa Brut Tropicale

Sparkling with Paan Kulfi at Indian Wine Day

But it was the after party at Kitty Su that had us impressed quite a bit. We tried out the Grover Zampa Brut Tropicale along with some Paan Kulfi. The acidity of the Chenin Blanc sparkling bursts through the sweetness of the Kulfi.
